Spring Event

The Winning Hand

Janet Sims, Chair

Saturday, April 17, 2010
Briar Club, 2603 Timmons Drive

Houston Grand Opera Guild will host The Winning Hand, the organization’s major fundraising event for the year, on Saturday, April 17, 2010, at the Briar Club.

“We have a fun-filled evening planned with casino gaming, professional entertainment, a lavish buffet, and a world-class auction,” stated Janet Sims, chair of The Winning Hand. Auction items offer trips to Costa Rica, a condo in Lake Tahoe, original artwork by Steve Brenner, and dining opportunities from Houston’s finest restaurants and hotels, and specialty items from Houston boutiques and merchants.

Last year’s honoree Bonnie Sue Wooldridge exclaimed, “Lynn Guggolz is the perfect volunteer to honor; she has worked tirelessly for Houston Grand Opera and its programs for many years.”

As former Co-Chair of the Studio Committee, Lynn is thrilled that part of the evening’s entertainment will be provided by members of the HGO Studio. Catherine Martin, Nathaniel Peake, and Stephen Hopkins will perform selections from the musical Guys and Dolls. Our jazz trio for the evening features Alicia Gianni, formerly in the HGO Studio.

Come play your winning hand, and support Houston Grand Opera.
