Houston Grand Opera Guild's Spring Event, "Puttin' on the Glitz" was on March 8th, at the Majestic Metro, a 1926 silent movie house that has been restored to its original grandeur. Guests were treated to a delicious buffet dinner, spectacular prize drawings, and a silent auction full of tempting treasures. Three extraordinary entertainers competed for the coveted title of HGO Guild's "Entertainer of the the Year." At the end of the evening, the audience decided on the winner, Ehtan Henke.

The spring event is a primary fund-raising event for the Guild and helps continue our nationally-acclaimed outreach programs, including education docents in schools, Opera Night Live (free to the public), Artists in Residence, Boutique and numerous services directly supporting our beloved Houston Grand Opera and its Studio. The Guild also supports the Houston Grand Opera financially, having donated more than $85,000 last year.
