Volunteers are needed to help Theater District Open House visitors understand why there is “Much Ado About Opera!”

Are you a Wortham Center expert? We need 12 volunteers who can serve as docents at the Open House, talking to visitors and answering questions in the Green Room, Founders Boxes, star dressing rooms, and Brown stage. You will be able to perform your duties while seated and will be given a list of talking points.

We also need 40 helpful people to assist with children's activities and to guide people around Wortham Center. Training will be provided. All that's required is patience, enthusiasm, and the desire to make sure people get as much as possible out of their visit to the Open House.

Are you a natural entertainer with a good knowledge of opera and the upcoming season? We need 10 outgoing volunteers to interact with the crowd and spark their interest in opera and Guild activities. You'll need a sense of humor and the ability to think on your feet.

Four organized volunteers are needed to staff the Volunteer Support area at the Open House. These individuals will coordinate volunteer check-in, handle communications, and maintain security for volunteers' personal belongings. This is a relatively sedentary position.

The uniform of the day will be the Guild’s “Wild about Opera” t-shirt. The Guild will supply a t-shirt to any volunteer who doesn’t already have one and will provide refreshments throughout the afternoon.
