HGO Guild Awards

Volunteer of the Year Award

The Volunteer of the Year Award is given the HGO Guild volunteer who best exemplifies a spirit of volunteerism and that "go on with the show" strength. Because of this volunteer's efforts in a number of initiatives, the Houston Grand Opera has benefited in numerous ways.

The Volunteer of the Year Award for 2008 will be presented to Imelda Gott at the Fall Brunch on September 27, 2008.

Bravo Award

The Bravo Award is given to individuals or organizations that deserve the Guild's applause. They are not members of the HGO Guild, yet their singular contributions to the success of the Guild or to the opera company itself during the year deserve recognition.

The Bravo Award for 2008 will be presented to Rubena Buerger at the Fall Brunch on September 27, 2008.

Volunteer of Distinction Award

The Volunteer of Distinction Award, begun in 2001, salutes Guild members who direct behind-the-scenes efforts to originate or sustain programs that meet specific Guild goals.

The Volunteer of Distinction Award for 2008 will be presented to Fred Gott, Mary Hanks, Ann Koster, Wynne Mattison, Maura Ritchie, and Vita Taksa at the Fall Brunch on September 27, 2008.
