The HGO Guild’s Boutique is located in the lobby of the Wortham Center, and is open an hour and a half before HGO performances in the Brown theater and at intermission. HGO Guild members receive a 10% discount. Major credit cards are accepted.

All profit from the Boutique, the largest fundraising venture of the Guild, goes to support HGO’s educational activities and the HGO Studio.
You’ll find a truly unique collection of gifts and accessories at the HGO Guild’s Boutique. Elegant stoles and jackets as well as stunning evening bags and music-themed ties.

The jewelry in the Boutique is perfect for the opera or casual wear. The large collection also includes hugely popular contemporary designs.

Start or add to your collection of T-shirts specifically designed for the Houston Grand Opera productions and sold only at the Boutique.

The Boutique offers educational gifts such as children’s books and CD recordings. Gift ideas for opera lovers are available in a whole range of HGO signature items such as totes and mugs. Discover hard-to-find DVDs and CDs of favorite operas.

Volunteer at the Boutique!

Guild Boutique volunteers help customers with purchases, stock displays, and set up and dismantle the boutique fixtures. No experience is necessary. All you need is a friendly face and the will to work. If you have a hankering for retail or if you just like to be the first to know about the newest fashion accessories, CDs, DVDs, books for children and adults, you should look into volunteering with the boutique. The Boutique is open at every opera performance in the Brown Theater starting an hour before the performance and during intermission to a total of 4-5 hours. The Boutique is the largest fundraiser for the Opera Guild and supports HGO’s education activities and provides HGO Studio scholarships.

All Guild members are eligible to volunteer in the Boutique. Initial team sign-up usually takes place at the Volunteer Gathering each spring, and new volunteers are always welcome to join throughout the year.

We will reimburse parking (up to $12) for the volunteers working a performance. A Boutique manager will reimburse you after the opening curtain. Volunteers receive a 15% discount (instead of the regular 10% Guild discount) on all regularly priced merchandise purchased on the day worked.

Volunteers who work more than one performance each rep will receive one dress rehearsal ticket for the next Rep for each two performances they support.
